Al Gietzen:
Earned a Master's degree in Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering from Stanford University. After a successful 15-year career in engineering and international marketing, changing interests led Mr. Gietzen to real estate development, small business ownership and consulting work. Consulting on acquisition analysis of small companies led to development of stock selection screening techniques. A natural follow-on to this was investing in growth stocks. Trading then followed, progressing from stock index options to commodity futures.
R & D of technical trading systems began in 1985. At the time his first book was published in 1992, Al was also teaching a course in Creative Problem Solving at JFK University graduate business program. He served as Executive Director of a charitable organization from 1992 to 1996, while continuing his involvement in trading and software development. He has since completed construction and flight testing of his own airplane.
